In 2012 the HCPC Alliance, a collaborative effort between HCPC US and HCPC-Europe, will again work together with Fleming Europe to realize the Columbus award. At Fleming Europe's Pharma Packaging & Labelling Compliance Conference 2012, which will take place in Rome on March 8th-9th 2012, the HCPC Alliance will present for the second time the Columbus award for enhanced packaging design.
This award will be presented to drug packaging & labelling industry thought leaders and designers/developers for innovative, patient compliance enhancing pack design. The HCPC Alliance seeks to acknowledge creative solutions that help patient adhere to their medicinal therapies. The entries to the award may or may not have been commercially available but must enhance patient compliance through their innovative design or features.
The jury consists of the HCPC-Europe's and HCPC of America's board members. The "Pugh Matrix" is the basis for the juries' voting. It is designed to allow an evaluation of the pack in 6 different criteria such as basic design and ease of use.
The finalists may present their packs at Fleming Europe's Pharma packaging & labelling compliance conference 2012 and the award winner will be announced on at the Gala Award Dinner on March 8th in Rome.
