  the direction of the HCPC. Besides meeting face to face six to
  seven times per year, the board currently engages in biweekly
  conference calls to ensure the organization is actively pursuing
  our mission of improving patient adherence and outcomes through
  packaging.

Walt Berghahn is the HCPC’s Executive Director.
 
Walt Berghan became HCPC's Executive Director in September 2010 after working with the organization in various board and chair positions for over ten years. In 2004, Walt Berghahn joined AmerisourceBergen Packaging Group as Vice President of Packaging Technology. In this position Mr. Berghahn supported AB’s Packaging Group companies by acting as liaison to Trade Associations and industry work groups, monitoring regulatory changes, evaluating their impact on future operations, coordinating technology suppliers to support implementation of changes and recommending appropriate action. Mr. Berghahn has worked on numerous project teams within EPCglobal on Track and Trace initiatives, continued with GS1 Healthcare.
 

Prior to joining AmerisourceBergen, Mr. Berghahn was with Uhlmann Packaging Systems, a manufacturer of packaging machinery for the pharmaceutical industry. Mr. Berghahn held a variety of positions at Uhlman including Director of Marketing and Business Development (2004), Director of Sales and Marketing North America (1999-2004), and Manager of East Coast Sales (1996-1999). Mr Berghahn was also Manager, Machinery Sales North America at American Fuji Seal and a Regional Manager, Machinery Sales, Rodico Inc. Mr. Berghahn holds a B.S. from Rutgers University College of Engineering with a Degree in Packaging Engineering.

Victoria Welch is the HCPC's Communications Director.
 
Victoria Welch joined the HCPC as its Communications Director in October 2009. Ms. Welch is the former director of marketing communications for Reynolds/Alcoa Flexible Packaging. During Ms. Welch’s 19 years at Reynolds/Alcoa, she gained extensive experience in internal and external communications for these Fortune 500 firms, and directed the following marketing communications responsibilities: advertising, public relations, direct customer promotions, tradeshows, website development, newsletters, promotions, national sales/distributor meetings and special events. Ms. Welch is experienced at strategezing and executing multiple business unit communications for a broad portfolio of products. She has developed communications for multiple industries including the healthcare, food and beverage, confectionery, medical, tobacco and industrial markets. Ms. Welch also gained valuable marketing management experience within healthcare packaging when she managed the laminated products and blister lidding specifications for Reynolds Flexible Packaging’s Healthcare Packaging business. Ms. Welch also represented Reynolds/Alcoa on strategic industry associations including Flexible Packaging Association, the Vinyl Institute, IoPP, and Green Blue’s Sustainable Packaging Coalition. Prior to Reynolds, Ms. Welch fulfilled a number of responsibilities for AdMark, Ltd., a Richmond, VA advertising agency, including account management, copywriting, art directing and agency management.
 
 

Ken Bertram - WestRock
 
Ken Bertram is Senior Sales Director for WestRock, a global packaging solutions company, with specific responsibility for driving adherence solutions in the retail market segment. Ken has been in this role for nearly 10 years, having spent much of his previous career with WestRock (f.k.a. MeadWestvaco) in various manufacturing leadership roles at the Covington, VA bleached board mill. In his current role, much of Ken's time is spent developing and delivering the message of "why" improved medication adherence is important and appropriate, and "how" it can be cost effectively accomplished through packaging.

Garrett Hager - Tekni-Plex, Inc.
Garrett Hager is the Director, Sales & Business Development, Pharma Films and Medical Packaging, US Films for Tekni-Plex. Garrett has more than 40 years' experience working in the Healthcare and Personal Care packaging industry with core competencies in pharmaceutical and medical device packaging emphasizing market and product development skill sets, including the application of Lean Six Sigma Principles focused on conformance to Pharmaceutical and Medical Device cGMP.Garrett earned his degree as an Industrial Engineer from the University of Toledo. He then started his career at Owens-Illinois in 1974 in the role of Lab Technician conducting physical testing of plastic bottles and caps
Over the years he has held various roles in different disciplines in the plastic packaging industry, including sales, product development, project engineering, operations management and general management. Previous employers have included Kerr Group (Berry), Comar, West Pharma, and Alcan Packaging. Prior to joining Tekni-Plex in 2013, he owned and managed a private consulting company, Garrett Consulting Group specializing in project and product management and operations improvement.
Since joining Tekni-Plex, his primary responsibility has been to lead the commercial team activities in growing the pharma and medical device business sector within the US Films business unit.

Tomas Hagstrom - Honeywell
Based in Morris Plains, NJ, Tomas is global business leader for Honeywell's healthcare packaging business where the AclarR barrier films is the most known product group. Tomas' career started with McKinsey & Company where he was a management consultant and thereafter he has worked his entire career in the chemicals and materials industry, with W.R. Grace and Perstorp. He has a broad experience that includes leadership roles in various functional areas; holding positions such as General Manager, Business Director, Manufacturing Site Manager, VP of Strategic Development and Finance Leader.

Joe Luke is Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Reed-Lane, a New Jersey based contract packager and has held this position since May 2010. Joe is responsible for overall management of Reed-Lane's growth and current sales, the marketing campaigns and leading the serialization effort underway at the company.

Joe joined Reed-Lane as an Account Manager in 2007. Prior to Reed-Lane, Joe worked for Alcan Packaging in the Contract Packaging & Carton Division, working for both the Bethlehem, PA and Montreal facilities from 1999 - 2007. Prior to Alcan, Joe worked for Mebane Packaging (now MWV) from 1985-1999 in folding carton sales.

Joe has a BS in Business from University of Dayton and a MBA from Iona College.

Thomas McDonough - Bilcare Research Inc.
Tom McDonough is the HCPC Board of Directors Chairman.

As Senior Vice President, Product Manager Barrier Films America's, Mr. McDonough is focused on expanding Bilcare Research's integration into North and South American pharmaceutical packaging markets through local, national, and multi-national projects. Prior to joining Bilcare Research, Mr. McDonough was the Director of Operations, Sales & Marketing for Tekni-Plex's Pharma-Americas Group amongst a variety of other responsibilities during his employment. Tom has a very broad perspective in manufacturing and business management for multiple packaging applications and structures including, low to high barrier blister films and forming webs, lidding, multiple varieties of closure liner, and pouching for unit dose as well as transdermal markets.

Ralph Mendoza - Klockner Pentaplast.
Ralph Mendoza is the HCPC Board of Directors Treasurer.

Based in Morris Plains, NJ, Ralph is the Global Account Manager for Klockner Pentaplast.

Prior to joining Klockner Pentaplast in July 2012, Ralph's career in Healthcare Packaging spanned over 18 years working in the areas of primary and secondary packaging. Previous to Klockner Pentaplast, he was with Honeywell's Healthcare and Packaging Group as a Marketing Manager. In addition, Ralph was with StoraEnso's Pharmaceutical Solutions Group as the North America Sales and Marketing Manager (2004-2011) where he introduced the award winning Pharma DDSi compliance package. Prior to that, he was with MeadWestvaco's Healthcare & Packaging Group as an Account Manager(1998-2004 ). Ralph's work encompasses special projects with Pharma end users to improve patient outcomes through innovations and applications including: unit dose blister packaging, intelligent electronic packaging & RFID and adherence and managed care programs. Ralph has worked with the pharmaceutical and managed care industries as well as pharmacists. Ralph has been active on the HCPC Board for a number of years and has been the Chairman of the HCPC Board for the 2013-2014 and 2015-2016 terms.

Timothy Morris - Amcor Pharmaceutical Flexible Packaging.
Tim Morris is Key Account Manager for Amcor Pharmaceutical Flexible Packaging. Tim has been with Amcor since 1995 and for the last 12 years, has worked exclusively with major consumers of pharmaceutical flexible packaging - Big Pharma, Generic, Over the Counter, and Contract Packagers. His experience covers every type of unit dose blister packaging - lidding materials, cold form foils, and barrier thermoform materials. He has also worked extensively in sachet packaging used for Transdermal and the Blow Fill Seal industry. He successfully led Amcor teams that brought two innovative products to the pharmaceutical flexible market that garnered prestigious industry awards

Tim received his Masters of Business Administration - Finance/Accounting from the University of Pittsburgh in 1979 and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Washington & Jefferson College with a Economics B. A. in 1978. Tim has served in the military as Captain, USAR Adjutant General Corps and Company Commander, Internal Auditor General Staff, P & A Officer. Tim has been a Big Brother Mentor since 2008 and since 1974 has been a Little League Baseball & Softball Umpire.

Matt Rayner - Legacy Pharmaceutical Packaging.
Matt Rayner is the Executive Director of Operations at Legacy Pharmaceutical Packaging in St. Louis, Missouri. Matt has worked at Legacy for over 10 years and has broad experience in Operations leading his team through tremendous growth the past 5 years installing 12 new packaging lines which includes fully integrated high speed compliance packaging lines. Mr. Rayner has also successfully consolidated Legacy's packaging operations into a 189,000sq ft. facility. Matt collaborates and works closely with Business Development and Sales to evaluate new business opportunities. In addition, Matt is currently leading the Legacy team towards full Serialization.

Justin Schroeder - PCI Pharma Services.
Justin Schroeder is the HCPC Board of Directors Vice Chairman.

Justin Schroeder is the Executive Director, Marketing, Business Development & Design at PCI Pharma Services, a global end-to-end pharmaceutical packaging company. Justin is responsible for new account development and global marketing, with a focus on the development and commercialization of unit dose and compliance-prompting packaging. He holds a Bachelor of Science from the School of Packaging at Michigan State University, and a Master of Business Administration in Marketing from Northern Illinois University. Justin has been at PCI, formerly Anderson Packaging, since 2000, holding positions including Process Development-Packaging Engineer, Customer Project Manager, and Director of Project Management and Planning. Previously, Justin held package engineering positions with Hershey Foods Corp and at the J.M. Smucker Co. (Smucker's). Justin is an IoPP Certified Packaging Professional and has been an HCPC Board member since 2008 and has been Vice Chairman for the past three terms.
