EYETRACKING STUDY SHOWS CLEAR PLASTIC CLAMSHELL PACKAGING OUTPERFORMS PAPERBOARD BOXES BY 402%

Klöckner Pentaplast recently conducted eyetracking research through Clemson University's CUShop™ to evaluate how different styles of packaging influence a customer's point-of-sale behavior. Different packaging options can make an enormous difference to the bottom line. Backed by statistical evidence, results indicated a strong purchase preference for clear plastic clamshells over printed paperboard boxes, with 402% more purchases being received for clear plastic clamshells. Longer fixations on clear plastic clamshell packages showed that they are a more attractive packaging option to consumers. Read More

Harry van Beek, 77, former president of Klöckner Pentaplast/Americas from 1977-1999, passed away on April 4, 2011. Van Beek founded the company in Gordonsville (Virginia) in 1977. KLÖCKNER PENTAPLAST ADDS NEW POLYESTER CAPACITY AT US SITE

The Klöckner Pentaplast Group recently announced that it has added new polyester production capacity at the company’s Rural Retreat, Virginia, manufacturing facility. The new line will increase capacity for high-performance polyester films to support growth in full-body shrink-label, general-purpose thermoforming, medical device, and all-plastic box packaging applications. MWV’s Dosepak Express® Receives Ease-of-Use Commendation from the Arthritis Foundation

MeadWestvaco Corp. recently announced that its Dosepak Express® child resistant, adherence packaging has earned commendation from the Arthritis Foundation’s Ease-of-Use program, as a user-friendly product for the 46 million people in the United States living with arthritis.
